"A fabulous breakthrough novel. Somehow both innovative and comfort food, Dhara Parekh's debut novel is reminiscent of Rod Serling and Andy Weir while still being refreshingly new and entirely its own world. I look forward to more of Ms. Parekh's work!"
"It is not often that you find a science fiction book written by an Indian author, a woman writer at that, and this one definitely hits the spot. The story of Unearthing Idyll takes place a hundred year in the future. Through Lyra and Aryabh, who are both unhappy in their worlds, the author invites us to think about how society shapes individuals and vice versa. The attention and depth to each character are phenomenal, making you feel closer and closer to them as the story unfolds. Every single one of them are heroes of their own story. I have never wanted to meet a book character in real life so badly as I have after reading Kenai. The attention to scientific details is also commendable as all the technologies and phenomena described are well-researched and scientifically plausible. The author did not use the shield of scifi to showcase anything surreal, but rather decided to go out of her way to create a sense into a fictional world, making it feel even more relatable. This book will not just make you think, but take you on an emotional ride right from the first chapter. A must-read!"
"Cerebal, yet a moving piece of fiction"
